Planning Ahead
The Garden Gurus is a school program located at Crockett Elementary School in Houston, Texas. Created by the Crockett Elementary PTO Eco Committee chair, this program aims to transform the school's green spaces into botanical masterpieces. The Garden Gurus empower students to cultivate a vibrant learning environment and foster a sense of pride, environmental stewardship, and a beautiful space for all to thrive. They offer after-school programs where parents and students can participate in nature-related activities and organize fundraisers to raise money for plants and supplies. The Garden Gurus is the only horticulture inspired program at Crockett Elementary and they have a vision to establish a program that will continue even after their students move on to different schools.

Fruit, Vegetable, & Herb Garden
At Crockett Elementary, we believe in teaching our students much more than just academics. Our school program includes a hands-on approach to learning how to create your own sustainable garden that can grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Our experienced teachers will guide you through every step of the process, from understanding soil requirements for optimal plant growth to harvesting and preparing your own produce.
Butterfly Garden
Exploring the wonderful world of butterflies is both fun and educational. At Crockett Elementary, we offer students the chance to discover different species of butterflies and learn about the important role they play in pollination. Our garden provides the perfect setting for a relaxing and immersive learning environment that will captivate students and inspire them to learn more.
